WipEout: Futurism Studio.Build Edition

Greetings WipEout Pre-order pilot,

As you'll no doubt be aware, the 1000 copies of this custom cover, clamshell-encased version of WipEout: Futurism – of which you are the owner of at least one – are collector's items in the making.

Over the past 10 months, while we have been making the book, we have received many messages from WipEout fans who missed out on a copy, and while there will be a general release version of the book available from Thames & Hudson later this year, we decided to conspire with ex-The Designers Republic art director Michael C Place to cook up one last surprise, aimed squarely at the graphic design fans amongst you.

Limited to just 500 copies – the Studio.Build edition of WipEout Futurism is now available to pre-order. This is a cut flush hardback edition, features an abstracted 'full grid' of WipEout racing liveries on its jacket. Each copy is signed by Michael C Place and Nicky Place (the ex-Psygnosis art team member for the early WipEout games).

We conceived this as a fun extra for those that missed out on the custom cover edition, but still wanted a collectable piece of WipEout history – I thought that some amongst you custom cover VIPs might have friends who didn't manage to secure a copy last year, so I thought this worthy of an update here. Of course, if you're a WipEout completionist, you might also want to add this to your collection.

The custom cover editions will land on UK soil very soon and we'll be back with an update in the coming weeks to check your address details and prepare to ship out this long-awaited videogame history tome.

Thanks again for supporting Read-Only Memory – not long to wait now!

^I wouldn’t get that rude about it but I must say I’m similarly disappointed. Threads only showed me the post 3 days after, and it sold out in 2. I’d rather have not even known…

Absolutely disgusting that you’d make something this cool and limit it to 1k copies. It’s unfair that I’d come across it only after it sold out! くそ
