Funding unsuccessful
Dear Fastest Known Times backer,
We’re sorry to report that the first publication devoted to the FKT phenomenon, authored by one of the founders of the discipline, Buzz Burrell, did not meet our funding target. Despite the support of Kilian Jornet, Jasmin Paris, Jim Walmsley and many other FKT holders, we failed to generate enough backers to make our ambitious vision of the book possible. We are immensely grateful for the enthusiasm and support you have given, and we wish we were sending a different note.
FKTs are, after all, about perseverance and endurance. Volume believes in the project more strongly than ever, so sees this only as the first attempt to make the book happen in the way we had originally envisioned and set out on the Volume page. We are continuing to develop some of the conversations we’ve had as a result of the campaign, and to rethink how we can better reach the passionate community and individuals who make FKTs what they are. In that regard, we would welcome any thoughts from backers as we move to the second phase of considering how to make this celebration of superhuman achievements happen.
Refunds will be made in the coming days. Thank you for your support, and please don’t give up on us going the distance with this important publication.

I wonder if the effort should have been more publicized? Was it mentioned on any ultra running sites?
It’s a shame and I hope the next round has better success. I love my Barclay book!
